We've been asked a few times why we decided to make our bags from vegan leather instead of genuine leather, and there are a few factors behind this choice. Below are our three main reasons to provide some insight behind this decision:

1. Ethical Standards

The first and foremost reason why we choose to use vegan leather is for ethical reasons. We wanted to ensure that no animals were being harmed in the making of our products so that customers can confidently shop with us knowing that their ethics aren't being compromised. Our vegan leather is even approved by PETA!

2. Weight

We all know how heavy camera gear can be without the added weight of a heavy bag. All those little bits and pieces add up! Vegan leather is much lighter than genuine leather, and we wanted to make our bags as light as possible so that they would be comfortable to carry. This was another big tick for vegan leather from us.

3. Price

Our goal was to make a high quality product that was as affordable as possible. If we were to make our bags from genuine leather, we would have to charge at least double the current RRP, making them unaffordable for most people.

We hope that provides a good insight into why we choose to craft our products from premium vegan leather. It should also be noted that not all vegan leather is made equal - in other words, you pay for what you get. We spent a long time researching different variations of vegan leather, and the material that we use for our bags is the highest quality pebbled vegan leather. This is more expensive but is worth it as it will stand the test of time. It was important for us to create a quality product that would last, and we think we've managed to achieve this!
